GUNNEDAH RURAL HEALTH CENTRE

A Future For Rural Health

The proposed Gunnedah Rural Health Centre is an innovative one-stop approach to rural health. The centre is to be built in the Gunnedah Hospital grounds and will be run by a ten member board of local medical, allied health, business and community members. The centre will provide multi-faceted health and allied care services under one roof. It will also play a key role in tertiary education of rural medical and allied students. The aim is to ensure the future of health in our community by attracting and retaining quality health professionals.

Fundraising

The development of the Rural Health Centre is suported by financial assistance from the Australian Government under the GP Super Clinics Program.

The generosity of the local community and its concern for the future health and welfare of Gunnedah are demonstrated by the fundraising ventures that have been staged or are in the pipeline. So far the local community has raised more than $100,000. We have also received generous support from these major sponsors:

Latest News

In May 2011 the Federal Minister for Health, Hon Nicola Roxon and Member for New England Tony Windsor turned the first sod for the Centre.
