The Gunnedah Rural Health Centre is strategically located adjacent to the Gunnedah District Hospital, Community Health Centre (with its allied health practitioners and community health nurses), Ambulance Station and one of the Shire’s aged care facilities.
The business model provides health professionals with no set up costs just simply a state-of-the-art facility, fully fitted out, providing a walk-in walk-out environment.
The centre removes the responsibilities from health professionals having to be:
accountable for administering the practice
managing the staff, reporting and maintaining infrastructure
The Gunnedah Rural Health Centre (GRHC) has world-class facilities including a healthy café and education wing.
Split into two areas leading down to the two consultation wings, the reception area provides extensive natural light. Within the reception area there is a dedicated kids area, full of fun activities for kids to entertain themselves. The reception area is the centre point of the centre having the training wing, the café, pathology, two dedicated consult rooms and the main administration/treatment wing leading off the reception area.
Consult Wings - Available to hire
In each wing there are 6 consultation rooms. All consult rooms have natural light, sink, examination bed and curtain, computer, desk, cupboard and drawers.
Treatment Wing - Available for hire
The treatment section of this wing provides one dedicated nurses station, three-bed observation room with an observation window from the nurses station, tow treatment/consultation rooms and two minor ops rooms. Minor ops rooms available for hire.
Education Wing - Available for hire
The education wing provides four dedicated training consult rooms with built in video cameras enabling students to be video while undertaking a consultation in order to receive feedback from their supervisor. A dedicated meeting room also in the wing provides an interactive whiteboard, video conferencing, teleconferencing, library and small kitchenette.

Catering for meetings and training is available via Medibean, the on site café offers catering. Contact them directly on 02 6742 1463 and speak to their friendly staff.
Laverty provides Pathology services at Gunnedah Rural Health Centre. Laverty is located to the left of the entrance to the Centre , phone 02 6742 3513. Their service allows the convenience and ease to all patients required to have further testing done. Laverty's operating hours are 7.00am - 5.30pm Monday to Friday and 8.00am - 11.00am on Saturday.
The café at the centre, Medibean Café provides a variety of cold drinks, freshly made sandwiches, homemade cakes and slices and freshly roasted Antilles coffee. Their freshly made sandwiches are a specialty.
Ashley and the team are ready to assist with your catering needs when utilising the centre’s education wing or holding a meeting offsite. The catering menu consists of different platters such as:
The friendly staff are happy to receive early morning coffee orders, to ensure your early morning coffee is ready to be picked up on your way to work.
Medibean has wonderful private court yard providing a great spot to catch up with friends or family over a coffee or sandwich.
